Course Objectives:

1.understand basic concept & structure of computer hardware & networking

2.identify the existing configuration of the computers and peripherals

3.apply their knowledge about computer peripherals to identify / rectify problems onboard

4.integrate the PCs into Local Area Network & re-install operating systems and various shipboard applications.

5.manage data backup & restore operations on server and update anti-virus software and set schedules

6.upgrading same as and when required

Course Contents:

1.What's inside your computer? How does it inter-relate?

2.Installations of operating systems & configuring PC network

3.Installation of service packs, applications such as MS Office, MS Outlook, Anti-virus software, Seagull CBT's etc.

4.Trouble shooting of Windows XP & MS Office

5.Sharing and managing networked components
